The 18th Amendment Repealed
On December 5th, 1933, Utah became the 36th state to ratify the 21st amendment, and repeal was achieved. This marked the end of alcohol prohibition. It also meant that a black market for alcohol was no longer necessary. Al Capone was the boss of something that no longer met a demand. It was as if a drug lord went from selling cocaine to selling sugar. There was a direct link between alcohol and violante behavior; violence had dropped immediately.
